The sanctum sanctorum of the grand Ram Mandir is set to welcome this divine representation on 22 January 2024, with the voting scheduled to take place on December 29.

The trust assigned the responsibility for this crucial decision is none other than the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, overseeing both the management and construction of the Ram Mandir.

According to Trust secretary Champat Rai, the 51-inch-tall idol of Lord Ram, depicting his five-year-old form, will be chosen from three distinct designs crafted by separate sculptors. The selection process is not just about aesthetics, it delves into the spiritual realm, seeking the idol with the utmost divineness and a childlike aura.

The anticipation surrounding this decision is recognizable, with the chosen idol set to be installed during the Prana Pratishtha ceremony on 22 January 2024. The trust’s commitment to a meticulous and qualitative approach is evident, as emphasized by Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra during his recent inspection of the ongoing construction.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Construction Update

Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee Chairman Nripendra Misra reassured that the construction is progressing methodically, divided into three phases. The first phase, slated for completion by December 2023, is followed by the second phase, encompassing the finalization of the Ram Mandir’s construction in January.

The third phase involves additional construction work within the complex. This phased approach underscores the dedication to ensuring both the quality and timeliness of the Ram Mandir’s construction.

The inspection took place just days before the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the city of ayodhya, further highlighting the national significance of this project. Nripendra Misra emphasized the importance of not rushing the construction but investing ample time to ensure the highest quality.

This commitment to excellence extends to the installation of security equipment, the ‘welcome gate,’ and canopy along the Janmabhoomi Path, all set to be completed by December.

Seven-Day Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla

As the Ram Mandir nears completion, the eagerly awaited Prana Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Lalla is scheduled to unfold over seven days, commencing on 16 January, 2024. The intricate rituals include the atonement ceremony, worship of Lord Vishnu, ‘Dashvidh’ bath, and offerings to cows on the banks of the Saryu River.

A procession featuring Lord Ram’s idol in a childlike form will traverse Ayodhya on January 17, culminating at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple with devotees carrying Mangal Kalash filled with Saryu water.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha Rituals

The formal rituals starts on January 18, encompassing Ganesh Ambika puja, Varun puja, Matrika puja, Brahmin Varan, and Vastu Puja. The lighting of the holy fire on January 19, alongside the establishment of ‘Navagraha’ and a ‘havan,’ adds to the sacred atmosphere.

The sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple will undergo purification with Saryu water on January 20, leading to the ‘Annadhivas’ and Vaastu Shanti rituals. Finally, on 22 January 2024, the idol of Lord Ram will be bathed in 125 urns(Kalash) and consecrated during the morning puja in the auspicious ‘Mrigashira Nakshatra.’
